ACOM Healthcare Business Division Optimizes Functionality, Security,
Interoperability, in RAPID EMR v. 5.0 Clinical Notes/Reporting Solution
ST. PETERSBURG, Florida, May 21, 2007 –
Responding to requests from across the chiropractic
community, the ACOM Healthcare Business Division
today announced the launch of RAPID EMR v. 5.0,
the most comprehensive release of the industryleading
clinical notes and reporting solution since its
inception, according to Division Vice President
Gregory T. Church. The new release is available
immediately and is free to current users under their
software maintenance contracts. To learn more
about this powerful new version or to request a Free
Trial Evaluation copy of the software, visit

The new release focuses on issues of key
importance to doctors, among them the ability to fully
integrate with multi-discipline practices; to customize
fully 100 percent of the text fields within the system
and to add others; to effect higher levels of security
over medical records and other data; and the ability
to integrate RAPID EMR Superbill charges with any
billing software or billing company. It also increases
its outcomes assessment report options from four to
ten.
“This new version of RAPID EMR addresses the
three defined areas that every Electronic Medical
Record solution must observe according to the
Certification Commission for Healthcare Information
Technology: functionality, security and
interoperability,” Church said. “RAPID EMR satisfies
the CCHIT recommendations fully in terms of its
applicability to virtually any medical specialty, and it
exceeds them in some cases through the
incorporation of technological innovations that are
unique to the system.”
New features and enhancements include:
- Medical features: a standardized Review of
Systems; enhanced Prescription Pad
- Grouping: accelerates file searches by
organizing data populated in the system’s
Intelligent Fields
- Kiosk: extends self-registration at any computer,
where previously limited to inking-capable tablet
computers
- Intelligence Anywhere: enables users to create
Intelligent Fields from their own statements
- Active and Passive ROM: establishes ability to
specify type(s) of ROM measurement
- Database character limit extension: now infinite
vs. standard 255 characters
- More outcomes assessment options: six reports
added to the existing four, including the Revised
Oswestry; Headache Disability Index; Upper
Extremity Pain Questionnaire; Cervical Spine
Bournemouth Questionnaire; Lower Back
Bournemouth Questionnaire; Lower Extremity
Functional Scale
- Dedicated space in Daily Notes for Assessment Documentation
- Extended security: administrators can lockrecords against access and/or editing
- Interoperability: doctors can generate a Superbill in
any time range and direct it to any billing software
and/or billing company; previously this ability was
limited to exchange between RAPID EMR and the
RAPID EPM practice management system
- Alerts: administrators can set parameters and
notifications for treatment actions and stages;
also they can attach memoranda to patient files
relating to individual problems, personality
characteristics, preferences, etc.
“We are extremely grateful to our users for their input
and for the continuing counsel of our team of
professional advisors,” Church said. “ACOM is
committed to creating and maintaining the most
advanced Chiropractic software available and the
information we derive from these sources is critical to
our ability to do so.”
